JuniGo Approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria as a Licensed International Money Transfer Operator

JuniGo has received full approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to operate as an International Money Transfer Operator (IMTO), advancing from the Approval-in-Principle granted in October 2025. The licence allows JuniGo to settle inbound and outbound transfers directly with licensed Nigerian banks, under CBN oversight.

The approval strengthens JuniGo's position on the Nigeria–China trade corridor, where the company supports importers paying suppliers in RMB and USD. Operating under its own licence reduces JuniGo's reliance on third-party settlement partners and shortens the chain between a Nigerian business initiating a payment and a supplier abroad receiving it.

JuniGo closed an oversubscribed pre-seed round, led by gumi Cryptos Capital (gCC), with GTR Ventures. China-to-Africa commerce reached US$296B in 2024, with 68% of African SMEs citing payment issues as their primary obstacle. JuniGo is on track to be licensed in Nigeria by end 2025 and expects a HK MSO license by Q2 2026.
